Canadian Die Cast • October 19, 2026 arrivals
Your next shelf favourite
just pulled in.
F1 precision. MUGEN attitude. Porsche race liveries. American classics. Meet 20 new additions with very different stories to tell.
There is a particular kind of excitement in finding a model that makes you mentally rearrange your display before it even arrives. Maybe it is the race car that belongs beside your favourite driver. Maybe it is a white-roof Thunderbird, a carbon-hood Civic, or a tiny AE86 with a story attached. Our October 19 additions give you plenty of reasons to make room.
This release group stretches from compact 1/64 collectibles to substantial 1/18 classics, with four 1/43 Formula 1 models, two custom-flavoured Maisto Outlaws, a pair of pickups, a Hot Wheels assortment, and a Tamiya motorcycle kit along the way. Whether you collect by manufacturer, motorsport, colour, or pure instinct, here is a closer look at what has joined Canadian Die Cast.
Prices below are in Canadian dollars and were checked for this article. Current pricing and availability are shown on each product page. These are new additions to our store; the years in the model names identify the vehicles or liveries represented.
Four cars. Three teams. Your own miniature grid.
If your race-weekend routine involves watching the grid form up, these Bburago arrivals bring that feeling to a shelf. All four represent 2025 Formula 1 cars in the Race Series, at 1/43 scale and approximately five inches long. They share rubber tires, detailed interiors and exteriors, and diecast construction with some plastic parts. These are closed-body display models with no opening panels.
The choice is wonderfully personal: start with a driver, build around a team, or bring together contrasting liveries. The two Aston Martins are especially satisfying as a pairing, with the same AMR25 identity and different driver numbers. The Red Bull and Mercedes add variety if you would rather assemble a cross-team display.

Sometimes the best collecting decision is simply choosing the finish you want to look at every day. Hobby Japan’s three MUGEN Group B Civic Type R FL5 models make that decision unusually tempting: Championship White, Racing Blue Pearl, or Matt Silver Metallic, each with a carbon hood treatment.
All three are right-hand-drive 2025 subjects from the JDM64 series, in 1/64 scale. Each measures approximately 2.75 inches long and features rubber tires, detailed interior and exterior work, and diecast metal with some plastic parts. The bodies have no opening panels. Together, they create a focused colour study; individually, each can add a different mood to a Honda display.

Hobby Japan • HJDM005B-29
MUGEN Civic Type R: Championship White
White provides a crisp contrast with the carbon hood treatment. Choose it for a clean, high-contrast addition to a Honda or Japanese performance-car shelf.

Initial D AE86: a story for your shelf
Hobby Japan’s 1/64 Toyota Sprinter Trueno AE86 diorama set features the white-and-black right-hand-drive car, collectible cards, and a Takumi Fujiwara vs. Takeshi Nakazato theme. The car is approximately 2.625 inches long.
C$47.99 CAD
Explore this model →The AE86 adds a different reason to collect: attachment to a story. Its cards and diorama presentation can give a small display more context than a car alone. The listing identifies the AE86 model and collectible cards; the rivalry in the title should not be read as a promise of two included vehicles. Like the Civics, the AE86 has rubber tires and no opening panels.
Three Porsche 911 GT3 R models, three racing identities
A great way to build a collection is to hold the car constant and let the liveries tell the story. These three Almost Real Porsche 911 GT3 R (992) models do exactly that. All are 1/64 scale, approximately 2.875 inches long, with diecast metal bodies and chassis, rubber tires, and detailed interiors and exteriors. None has opening panels.
At C$60.99 each, the decision centres on the team, event, and presentation you want represented. You can choose one as a standalone GT racer, or group the trio to compare how the same Porsche shape carries different racing identities.

Give the classics a little more room
If you enjoy a model that feels substantial in a display, the three new Motormax 1/18 arrivals deserve attention. At approximately 10 to 10.5 inches long, they need more space than the compact racers above, but that larger footprint gives their silhouettes and interiors room to stand out.
The two 1955 Bel Airs are particularly interesting together. The black hardtop offers a restrained appearance, while the burgundy version with a blower brings a more assertive custom flavour. The red-and-white Thunderbird adds a third colour story and a different body style.

Motormax • 73185bk

Motormax • 73176r
1956 Ford Thunderbird: red with white top
The American Classics Thunderbird combines steerable wheels with an opening hood, doors, and trunk. At approximately 10.5 inches long, it rewards a display position with room around it.
C$90.99 CAD
Explore this model →Each is C$90.99, so the deciding factor can be the car itself and the features you value. For a display with open panels, the black Bel Air and Thunderbird have explicitly listed opening features. The burgundy Bel Air listing does not specify opening panels, so choose it for its documented styling and steering rather than assuming it matches the others.
Custom character meets pickup attitude
Maisto’s four additions split into two natural pairs. The 1/24 Outlaws models lean into distinctive colour and familiar shapes, while the 1/27 Colorado ZR2 pickups offer a red-or-white choice for a truck display. The different scale ratios are worth keeping in mind if you want a strictly consistent collection.

Maisto • 31517W
White 2017 Chevrolet Colorado ZR2
The white version provides a cleaner, more neutral colour option with the same listed scale, dimensions, and features. Pair the two if colour variations are part of your collecting style.
C$50.99 CAD
Explore this model →The Outlaws are an easy pairing by series, even though the Beetle and Model A have very different shapes. The two Colorados are a straightforward comparison by colour. If you are building a mixed vehicle display, position models by approximate dimensions and leave breathing room around them; a shared shelf does not have to mean a shared scale.
Hot Wheels Car Culture: know what is inside the case
For collectors who enjoy packaged pairs, the Hot Wheels Car Culture 2 Pack Assortment Y brings several themes together in one factory-sealed case. The assortment contains 16 cars in eight two-packs, with repeated pairings. It is useful to understand that breakdown before deciding how the case fits your collection.

Hotwheels • HBL96-956Y
Car Culture 2 Pack Assortment Y: 16 cars
The cars have diecast metal bodies, rubber tires, detailed interiors and exteriors, and no opening panels. Each is listed at approximately 2.5 to 3 inches long, with two models in each individual blister pack.
C$239.99 CAD
Explore this model →- Three McLaren two-packs: a white McLaren F1 GTR paired with a white McLaren P1 GTR with a black top.
- Two Black Hole Racing two-packs: a matt black Plymouth Duster Funny Car paired with a matt black 1965 Mercury Comet Cyclone.
- Three Cyberpunk 2077 two-packs: a silver metallic and black Porsche 930 with red stripes paired with a matt black Quadra Turbo-R V-Tech.
Collector’s note: This is a 16-car assortment with duplicate two-packs, rather than 16 different castings. The mix suits buyers who specifically want the case format and its repeated pairings.
The appeal is the variety of subject matter: McLaren race cars, drag-racing characters, and a video-game pairing in the same assortment. If you display models in their packaging, the two-pack format also gives each pair its own ready-made visual grouping.
For the collector who loves the build as much as the finish
The final arrival takes the collection from display cabinet to workbench. Tamiya’s 1/12 Ducati 916 is a plastic model kit, giving you an assembly project as well as a finished motorcycle to display.

Tamiya • TAM-14068
Tamiya Ducati 916: 1/12 plastic model kit
The kit lists a steerable front fork, rubber-like tires, decal artwork, chrome-plated small parts, and parts moulded in red and grey unless otherwise indicated. Paint and cement are required and are not included.
C$80.99 CAD
Explore this model →The description highlights an L-Twin engine mounted to a reproduced truss frame with small metal screws, along with dual exhausts, a curved radiator, an oil cooler, and a large-diameter air funnel. Those details give the build a mechanical focus: the enjoyment comes from seeing the motorcycle take shape a stage at a time.
At C$80.99, this is the choice for someone who wants hands-on hobby time. If you are choosing it as a gift, make sure the recipient enjoys assembly and has suitable modelling supplies. If you want a finished model to display immediately, choose one of the assembled diecast arrivals instead.
Which new arrival belongs in your collection?
Start with the kind of satisfaction you want from your next purchase. A small themed group can be more enjoyable than choosing several unrelated models simply because they are new. These are a few ways to give the October 19 arrivals a clear place in your display:
- For an F1 shelf: begin with Russell’s Mercedes W16 or your preferred driver, then build a row at a consistent 1/43 scale.
- For Japanese performance: choose your favourite MUGEN Civic colour and let the carbon hood treatment tie it into the rest of your collection.
- For a compact motorsport group: compare the three Almost Real Porsches and pick the event or team identity that means the most to you.
- For a larger focal point: give the red-and-white Thunderbird enough room to show its profile and opening features.
- For story-driven collecting: the Initial D AE86 set adds collectible cards and a manga theme to a compact car display.
- For hands-on hobby time: make the Ducati 916 kit your next workbench project.
Are all 20 additions finished diecast models?
The group includes finished diecast model listings and the Hot Wheels assortment, plus one plastic assembly kit: the Tamiya Ducati 916. The Ducati requires paint and cement, which are not included.
Do all of the cars have opening doors?
No. The Bburago F1 cars, Hobby Japan Civics and AE86, Almost Real Porsches, and Hot Wheels assortment list no opening panels. Selected larger Maisto and Motormax models do have opening features, as noted above.
Which arrivals are under C$50?
All four Bburago F1 models, all three Hobby Japan MUGEN Civics, and the Hobby Japan Initial D AE86 set are listed below C$50 at the prices shown here. That gives you eight product listings to explore within that budget.
Make room for the one you keep coming back to.
