Ordering & Shipping

Do I have to pay customs or duty?

No. Your order ships to you from within Canada. There's no border for your parcel to cross, so there's no import duty, no customs fee, and no brokerage charge.

If you've ordered diecast from a US or overseas seller before, you may have met the courier brokerage fee — sometimes $20 to $40 on top of what you already paid, due before the driver hands over the box. That doesn't happen here.

What you see at checkout, plus $18 shipping and applicable tax, is what you pay. Nothing arrives later.

How much is shipping?

$18 CAD flat rate per order — not per item.

Three models cost the same $18 as one. If you're buying more than one, order together and save.

US customers: shipping is free on every order, no minimum.

How long will my order take?

Canada: 8–15 business days, order to door. United States: 3–5 business days, order to door.

Business days are Monday to Friday, excluding Ontario statutory holidays.

Why does Canadian delivery take longer than the US?

Because we're honest about the whole journey rather than just the last leg of it.

Your model is sourced from our distribution partner, brought into Canada, and then shipped to you domestically — which is exactly why you never see a customs bill. That inbound step takes time. We think a slightly longer wait beats a surprise invoice at your door, and most collectors agree.

When do I get my tracking number?

Canadian orders: once your model has arrived in Canada and is on its way to you.

We do this deliberately. A tracking number that sits unscanned for a week tells you nothing except that something might be wrong. We wait until there's a real parcel moving toward a real address, then send you a number that actually works.

US orders: as soon as your order ships.

My tracking hasn't updated. Is something wrong?

Probably not. Tracking can take 24–48 hours to show its first scan, because the label is created before the carrier picks the parcel up.

If it hasn't moved after 1-2 business days, email us at info@info.canadiandiecast.com and we'll chase it.

Who do you ship with?

Canada: Sendle or ICS Courier, depending on parcel size and destination. United States: USPS or UPS.

Do you ship to PO boxes?

No. Our carriers need a street address with someone available to receive the parcel. Please use a residential or business address.

If you order to a PO box, we'll hold it and email you for an alternative address.

Do you ship outside Canada and the US?

Not currently.

Can I change my shipping address after ordering?

Email info@info.canadiandiecast.com right away. We can usually change it before dispatch — rarely after. Please double-check your address at checkout.

Do you deliver to the territories and rural addresses?

We don't deliver to remote areas as of now. 

My tracking says delivered but there's nothing here.

Check with neighbours and around your property first — carriers often leave parcels in a safe spot.

If it's still missing, contact us within 2 days at info@info.canadiandiecast.com and we'll open an investigation with the carrier.


Returns & Refunds

Can I return something if I change my mind?

Yes, you can but you will be responsible for return label plus 15% restocking fee.

Items must be unused and in their original packaging with all inserts and documentation.

Packaging matters. These are collectibles — for many models the box is part of the item's value. Returns with damaged or discarded packaging may be refused or reduced.

Who pays return shipping?

Customer is responsible for return shipping unless the item is damaged or received another item than what you ordered.

Is there a restocking fee?

15% restocking fee plus customer will responsible for return shipping.

How do I start a return?

Email info@info.canadiandiecast.com with your order number before sending anything back. Returns shipped without prior authorization may not be processed.

How long do refunds take?

Approved refunds go back to your original payment method within 5 business days of us receiving the item.

Your bank may take a few extra days to post it.

My model arrived damaged. What now?

That's on us, and we'll fix it.

Email info@info.canadiandiecast.com within 1-2 days of delivery with your order number and photos of the item and the packaging, including the shipping box. We'll arrange a replacement or a full refund including shipping, at our cost.

Keep the box until you've checked the model over — we need photos of it for the carrier claim.

I got the wrong item.

Same as above — email info@info.canadiandiecast.com with photos and your order number. We'll make it right at our cost.

Are any items non-returnable?

Yes, almost all items are non-returnable.

Can I cancel my order?

Email us at info@info.canadiandiecast.com as soon as possible. If it hasn't shipped, we'll cancel and refund in full.

You also have a right under Ontario's Consumer Protection Act, 2002 to cancel if we can't deliver within 30 days of the delivery date we promised.


Products

Are these genuine, licensed models?

Yes. We stock officially licensed models from manufacturers including Maisto, Jada, Motormax, American Diorama, Greenlight, and AUTOart. No replicas, no counterfeits.

What scales do you carry?

All the major collector scales:

1/64, 1/24, and 1/18 are our largest ranges.

What does "1/18 scale" actually mean?

The model is 1/18th the size of the real vehicle. So a 4.5-metre car becomes about 25 cm long.

Lower second number = bigger model. 1/18 is large and detailed; 1/64 fits in your palm.

Are these toys? Are they safe for kids?

Most are collectibles, not toys. Many contain small parts and are intended for adult collectors — check the manufacturer's age marking on the packaging.

Unless a listing says otherwise, assume it isn't intended for children under 14.

Do the doors and hoods open?

Depends on the model and the scale. Most 1/18 and 1/24 models have opening parts; 1/64 usually doesn't. Check the individual product description.

Are model kits assembled?

No. Kits ship unassembled and unpainted unless the listing says otherwise. Glue, paint, and tools are not included.

The photo doesn't match exactly. Why?

Product images come from the manufacturer. Colours vary between screens, and manufacturers occasionally revise packaging or details without notice. Minor variation isn't a defect.

If what arrived is materially different from what you ordered, email us — that's on us.

Is it in stock?

Stock levels on the site reflect our distribution partner's inventory and update regularly. If something sells out between your order and dispatch, we'll contact you and refund in full.

Do you take pre-orders?

No We don't do Pre-Orders.

Do you do special orders?

No, we don't do special orders.


Payment & Pricing

What payment methods do you take?

We accept all major credit and debit cards at the moment.

What currency are prices in?

Canadian customers see CAD. US customers see USD. The currency in effect is shown at checkout.

Do I pay tax?

Canada: GST/HST/PST is calculated at checkout based on your province. United States: No.

Is my payment secure?

Yes. Payments are processed by Banks over an encrypted connection. We never see or store your full card number.

Do you offer discounts for multiple items?

Not on the model price — but shipping is $18 flat regardless of how many you order, so buying several together lowers your per-item cost.
